Experience

Employment

2006:

Goffin Bank & Change: Programmer/DBA. My first assignment was the conversion of the existing counter system. This was written in Visual Basic 5 and used Lotus Notes as DBMS. I had to convert the code to vb6 and switch the DBMS to SQL server 2005. Especially the switch between Lotus Notes and SQL server is not a sinecure; the Lotus Notes database system is document centric and not relational like SQL server. I also was responsible for the installation of the SQL server 2005. This included the creation of replications with about 100 counter PC.s. After the first phase I developed new features for the counter program and maintained the SQL server.

2005:

Threon: Programmer 4GL/4JS Informix. Development and adaptation of the ERP package Mainstream. My main task was creating a new implementation of Mainstream for the Yarn department of Mc Three Industries. Sub tasks where adapting the Mainstream packages of Latexco, Le Clos du Renard and Pentair.

Internships

2004:

Pioneer Europe It department: In-house development of Lotus Notes applications: Most time was spent creating a job description application for Human Resource Management. The aim of the program is to keep track of all functions and personnel. It is also used for appraisal in Pioneer. HRM can use its reporting functions to find the people that are in need of training. This is done by interacting through Component Object Model with Excel to create visually attractive reports with graphics. Furthermore, it can be used to select the most fitting candidate for a given role. There is a built-in "change request" feature for non HR members and their direct superiors. (three months + one month holiday job).

2001:

Vercruysse NV: Assembly of pcs and servers.
